Wild Stallion

Description

So I am now the proud co-owner of a champagne Racking Pony stallion.

I've been looking for a parade horse.  My mother thought she had to give up riding because of problems with her hip, but has recently discovered that sitting on a horse for even a few minutes helps her immensely.

She found this pony stud for sale not to far from here and we went to look at him.  The owner was out dealing with the harvest, but told us to look him over to see if we liked him.  So we get there and there's this gorgeous (but fat) pony stallion.  He walks right up to us.  We rub him all over and brush him out, then decide to see how he rides.  We throw a saddle on him and Mom gets on him and I lead him around.

He walks kind of stiff, which I attributed to not being ridden in three years, but gradually relaxes.  Then we switch places.  We decide to take him - Mom can get her few minutes per week of riding and I can borrow him for parades.  We take off the saddle and halter and get in the van where Mom calls the owner to say we'll take him.

Turns out, Tatts was walking stiffly because HE'D NEVER HAD A SADDLE ON BEFORE.

See, even a kind and friendly gelding would normally not tolerate two perfect strangers trying to ride him, much less riding him for the first time in a saddle!  If it was a mare, we would have been in a hospital before we could say 'Giddyup horsie!'

So for this stallion to do so . . . holy crap.  We found one that's too good to cut.

The only problem is . . . . I can't have him and Tinkerbelle on the same property.  I wouldn't mind him breeding Gytha - in fact I might do that anyway.  But if he tried to breed Tinkerbelle A) she'd probably get desperately hurt during the breeding and B) trying to deliver a foal from a full sized stallion (even just a pony) would probably kill her.

So I might have to sell Tinkerbelle.  I don't want her getting hurt.  I've heard of horses breeding through fences, opening gates, etc.  Where there's a will, there's a way.

I might be able to use this as a pose reference for my half-elf ranger female, Lu'thea. I've never tried drawing her on her horse. Obviously, the horse is too short, but that's where imagination and other reference come into play.
